Bulk wine is increasingly seen both as a cost effective and environmentally friendly method of delivering wine to market. Since its establishment in 1992, VinAgora, as a member of VinoFed, has become one of the 10 most professionally recognised competitions in the world. It has obtained the patronage of major international professional organisations, such as OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine)and UIOE (Union Internationale des Oenologues). It is an active member of VINOFED (Fédération Mondiale des Grands Concours Internationaux de Vins et Spritiueux).

The organizers strongly believe that the partnership and patronage of highly acclaimed international organisations helps evaluating Hungarian wines in an authentic and unbiased way. Setting up a wine competition in a “custom-tailored” manner, with guided preconceptions, sometimes influencing foreign wine judges is self-deception that only contributes to the conservation of the flawed idea of “world famous” Hungarian wines only known within the borders.

“The Best of Country” prize

Another new development is that if at least 20 samples are received from a foreign country, the gold medalist wine that achieved the highest score among the competing samples will be awarded a special prize.

Reasonable entry fee

Compared to the fees at renowned wine competitions abroad, VinAgora offers a reduced entry fee, which is affordable even to smaller winemakers. Entering one sample costs EUR 130,-, and the per-unit cost of entering a sample decreases with the number of samples submitted. For example, four samples can be submitted for a mere EUR 460.

The VinAgora Wine Gala is a one-day long post-competition event where:

– consumers are provided an opportunity to gain an insight into the world of wine competitions and to become acquainted with the methods of selecting quality wines
– interested wine-lovers and professionals have an opportunity to taste all of the wines of the competition
– every winemaker who submitted at least 5 samples, can represent his/her wine personally in the Gala
– 1000 visitors every year are the proof that it is worthwhile using the results of VinAgora as a means to gain consumer confidence and markets.

Macaron on the bottle

The makers of medal-winning wines will be allowed to order the “VinAgora macaron” as a proof of their excellent performance (a round stick that can be added to the main label on the bottle) in order to strengthen consumer confidence in their wines and increase their popularity and reputation.

FENAVIN is the Spanish wine industry”s most important global trade fair”
This is how both the EL PAÍS newspaper, in an article in its Business supplement, and ICEX, refer to the National Wine Fair.

It is an opinion shared by Spanish wineries and cooperatives, which have supported FENAVIN as a tool for boosting the Spanish wine sector at home and abroad since it first opened its doors. The sector appreciates the efficient system used by the Fair year after year. The Fair”s management continues to work towards the same goal: Helping demand and supply to meet and do business using sensible and efficient business tools.

This system, focused on the needs of buyers, has made FENAVIN, in just seven years, into Spain”s most important wine industry trade fair and the only one offering a focused business environment.
This is why, at FENAVIN 2013, 1,214 vineyards, from all over Spain, attended the event, held in eight pavilions. Almost all the Spanish Designation of Origin regions signed trade agreements at Spain”s top wine event.

Since it started, FENAVIN has specialized in encouraging export trade: An international approach that has allowed the Spanish wine industry to establish a presence in the most important international markets. To encourage export trade, the Fair has delegations all over the world: In 2013 3,052 buyers from 58 countries attended, 659 of them actively organized by the Fair”s management team.

Back in 1955, Ljubljana wine competition got the sponsorship of the International Organization for Vine and Wine (OIV), which it has retained till this day. In the year of wine, on the 30th October 1987, OIV in Rome granted Ljubljana the title ‘The City of Vine and Wine’.
With its rich development, Ljubljana competition has become a reference evaluation of world organizations which are in charge for sensory analysis of wines (OIV, VINOFED, UIOE). Ljubljana competition is considered the oldest international wine competition in the world and is ranked among the 10 most elite wine competitions in the world.

“The International Wine Competition is the oldest international competition in the EU and worldwide. In addition to medals we grant special awards: World Champion, Tsukamoto trophy, Akos Asvany diploma, Country Champion, Slovenian Champion, Champion of the winegrowing district, Slovenian champion of a sort and the Winner of Slovenian specialty wines. The winners will be awarded at the ceremonial opening of the Wine Fair on 15 October 2015.”

Международен конкурс на Cabernets 2015

Cabernet is the most widely grown grape variety in the world. It is actually better to talk about cabernets in the plural, because there are many different types. The most well-known are the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, but there are others including the Cabernet Dorio, Cabernet Moravia, etc. There is even a Cabernet Blanc (see the cabernets page).
The objective of the International Competition of Cabernets is to compare these wines and award the best cabernets in the world.

The Union de la Sommellerie Française (UDSF) is partnering the competition. This organisation brings together nearly 1200 sommeliers and selects the best Sommelier of France, amongst other awards.
Their expertise and their perfect knowledge of consumer tastes is a further guarantee of the quality of the wine selection. The results of the selection are communicated to USDF members after the event.

The competition is run by Armonia, which also organises the prestigious Lyon International Competition, the International Gamay Competition (with Inter Beaujolais) and the ‘Un vin presque parfait’ with M6 television. Armonia is ISO 9001 certified and monitored by an external auditor.
The company follows quality procedures in order to guarantee precise technical management for producers and rigorous selection for the consumers.
